This recording has been a perennial favorite with fans. Passionate and mysterious music, recorded in the Fall in a cottage on the coast of Maine. 9 instrumentals and 4 songs. It sets a powerful neo-Celtic mood & reflects the power of the ocean and the impending cold weather. Designed to wear well during repeated listenings during the winter. Mostly 6-string & quite a bit of Reid's unique autoharp work.
REMIXED & REMASTERED in 2012. This is the recording that launched Harvey's career, and its energy and sound hit a nerve in a lot of listeners and the album sold very well in the late 1980's in Northern New England. It has been out of print for over 10 years, and has just been completely remixed and remastered from the original masters. It also marks Reid's first recording using his modified Shubb Esus capo, (rather than the Third Hand universal partial capo) and the sophisticated piece The Minstrel's Dream and to a lesser extent the Hunter's Moon mark a very important milestone in the development of this now-widespread partial capo guitar idea.
6 tracks use a partial capo. (*) Includes a remarkable unedited 23-minute solo guitar piece with the Esus capo(+). Features Brian Silber # (violin & viola) on 8 cuts.
