After almost 40 years of using, researching, manufacturing, selling and explaining all types of capos, Harvey Reid has created the next-generation partial capo. It has been unavailable for many months but will be back in stock eventually, but probably not from Amazon again due to some "problems" with them.
This new member of the partial capo family is reversible, and clamps 3 strings on one side and 4 on the other. The Liberty FLIP capo is the lightest weight, easiest to reach over, most versatile, least noticeable and most attractive partial capo, and does the job of 3 other partial capos. It does 80% of all things that matter in the world of partial capos, and fits more kinds of guitars at more frets than any other type of partial capo. It is also the key to the amazing new Liberty Guitar Method that uses Reid's discovery of "Liberty Tuning." You can use this powerful tool to get started playing guitar, and you will be able to use it the rest of your musical life.
This elegant and ingenious capo clamps 3 or 4 inner strings on most guitars, and on many fingerboards it can also clamp 4 outer strings. It does everything the common Esus 3-string capos can do, plus a lot more, since it can be moved very high up the neck, and will work on wider-neck instruments and those with higher string action. On most guitars, it can clamp XXXX00, 0XXX00, 00XXX0, 0XXXX0, and 00XXXX. (See photo gallery) We offer it also as a package with our books, recordings, and with the Model 65 capo.
Common 3-string capos (Shubb, Kyser and G-7) don't have enough "reach" and string clearance for some special partial capo situations. The Liberty's threaded clamp mechanism allows you to get the perfect amount of clamping pressure without pulling sideways or overtightening. It attaches from either side of the fingerboard, in case you need access to strings on one side or the other, or if you are having trouble with stability.
• Strong, (solid aluminum) ultra-lightweight, will never wear out.
• Hard rubber has good tone and durability.
• Perfect for both versions of the exciting new Liberty Tuning
• Will also do about 2/3 of all the most useful partial capo configurations, and most of Harvey Reid's Top 20 partial capo ideas
• Low profile is easy to reach over and around
• Attractive and barely noticeable on the guitar
• Fits easily in your pocket.
• Young children can operate it easily, since it has no strong springs or snap mechanisms and a low gear ratio.
• Works as a full or partial capo for all fretted instruments, including mandolin, octave mandolin, mandocello, mandola, tenor guitar, tenor banjo, electric bass, ukuleles and banjo.
• Stores on the headstock if needed.
If you have never bought a partial capo before, this is the first one you should get, and if you are a partial capo user already, you'll want to immediately add it to your collection.
